Universal Meanings of Colors

Our world is an explosion of color. Everywhere we look color bombards us. We eat, sleep, and drink color. When we make a purchase, color is a major factor in our choice. Our preference for one color over another is totally individualistic. Each time we select a particular shade we are making a personal statement about ourselves to the rest of the world. It is a fascinating stuff to see yourself and others through color.

RED

Red is a very strong primary color. It is one of the easiest colors to detect. It indicates force, vigor, and energy. People using red fight hard to get their own way. Red is the color of the pioneer and the strong, aggressive leader. The choice of many dark reds indicates a high temper and nervous turmoil. Red is not considered a good color to be dominant in the aura. A little is normal and good to have, but a heavy predominant red shows individuals who are nervous, impulsive and extremely agitated. Greens and blues are excellent to intruduce into this kind of environment. A lot of scarlet shows and ego out of balance. Pinks and corals are naive and child-like. Sudden slashes and streaks of red indicate an approaching illness.


YELLOW

Yellow reveals people who take good care of themselves. It is the color of intelligence and eager learning. Yellows are very curious. People who choose yellow will ask many questions. When people crave yellows they are showing a great desire to better themselves. Yellow is also the color of the social butterlifes. People using yellow have an abundance of friends and a cheerful outlook on life. When the yellow is a ruddy shade, not a sunny yellow, you discover basically timid individuals. The off-colored yellows are more willing to allow others to take the lead.


PURPLE

Sudden and odd choices of purples may indicate coming personal changes or, if it is very dominant and totally ill suited, stomach troubles.


Orange

Orange is a sun color, and a much like the sun, it is best when not overdone. A golden oragne shows people with self-confidence and strength of character. Medium shades indicate thoughtfulness and consideration for others. In India the color of material renunciation is orange. People who favoor a little orange general have a green thumb. Oranges that are ruddy or brownish show individuals who are not living up to their full potential. Orange is the color of procrastination. someone or something is holding these people back. sudden, bright, and ill suited oranges also indicate an uncoming illness.


BLUE

Blue has always been considered the color of the spirit. A deep ,even shade is thought to be best. Blue people think higher thougs and seek spiritual answers. Blue often indicates very created people. Ones who might have st rong talents ain the arts. These people become deeply involved in their work and have strong desires to contribute to the betterment of human kmind. Pale blues indicate a good start on the right path. These pale shades are working hard to overcome faults. Middle blues, or aquas, show individuals striving very hard and making good progress toward their ambitions. The middle blues usually accomplish much in their lifetime. A lot of deep and royal blues represent those who have found their right paths and have definite missions in life. These dark blues also go hand in hand wiht moodiness and always show very unual people. Blues are for the spiritual minded whose lives are dedicated to the arts, sciences or socoal services. Deep blue shades also mark musical talents and crative writers.


GREEN

Green is the color of healing. It soothes and quiets. People who prefer green are the real peace lovers in the world. They try to create harmony wherever they go. when people crave green, they are getting through a kind of emotional or physical healing period. This is especially true if the green is emerald, or has some blue in it. Greens indicate very strong individuals who attracgt others. It is the color of compassion and draws those who seek aid. Deep forest green is helpful, strong, and cleansing. It is the color of friendship and invokes benevolent feelings from others.


BROWN

Brown is the color of the earth. It indicates firm and definate people. People who prefer brown have a very pracicial outlook on life. Brown shows hard and devoted workers, but tuntil they add more color to their lives, they seldom rise to great heights. Often, it's not that they don't like to try new things, it's that they never tak the time off to see if opportunities exist. If the brown is too heavy, some reds and yellows in the environment will let new vibrations in and open new doors. Too much brown also shows very critical people who find fault in everything. They need to add the sun's color to their lives.


BLACK

Black, as a color, is by no means bad. When black is used to outline or accent colors, it indicates highly intuitive individuals. People who use black have an uncanny undesrstanding of human nature and the problems of others. When black is a color choice, you will find people who love formality and form. They have real dignity about them. Black shows a strong drive and purpose. If the black hides all other colors it indicates too heavy of a restraint. Something is holding these people back or curbing some natural traits and talents.


WHITE

White is considered the color of perfection and purity. It is pure light energy. People who choose white as a principal color have spiritual goals and feelings. White indicates good balance in viewpoints and judgments. Those who seek and strive for religious and spirtual paths are drawn to white. Creams are refereshing and a little more down to earth than stark white, but creams follow the same basic paths. If an individual is in perfect balance, all the color vibrations become pure and white. White is the prefect color vibration, the one for which we should strive.
